Vampires, Gifts and Starbucks – Oh My!

December 29, 2009 · 14 Comments

Morning!  It’s CCCCC-OLD out there!

I had scary dreams filled with VAMPIRES last night!

I had to stop after one episode because I could tell I was freaking myself out a bit too much.  My sister finished the season last night (we’re only on Season 1) and told me she found out who the killer is and is now scared to go anywhere by herself!  GREAT!  Haha

Anyway, I took it easy this morning (no early morning exercise) but am definitely going to make yoga/pilates/stretching a priority when I get home tonight because my body is ACHING for it.

Today though, I knew I just needed to wake up late, relax around the apartment and enjoy my breakfast so that’s exactly what I did

Breakfast was egg whites with my very last Multi-Grain Flax Flat Out Wrap I will miss these guys.  I love my Joseph’s Lavash roll ups, but these were a nice change for a while.

I threw an orange on the side but didn’t end up getting to it on account of looking up at the clock and realizing I was WAY late and not even dressed yet!

He will definitely be consumed later though, have no fear

Yummy.

Like my nice stainless steel utensils that Mike got me in the background??  They make me smile every time I see them.  I finally am getting an actual kitchen!!

When I got to work I put my stuff down and IMMEDIATELY went to use up more of my Starbucks gift cards BEST Christmas presents EVER.

Venti Soy Misto.

I love being able to treat myself and not feel guilty!  Plus, it helps on mornings like these when I completely ran out of time to make something.

What about you guys?  What’s the best gift you got this holiday season?

I love giving more than receiving but this year my gifts from EVERYONE were spot on.  I can’t think of a single one I didn’t absolutely love.

Time to get to work!

Haha, this is really lame of me to admit, but when I was reading the Harry Potter books – I used to have nightmares about Voldermort. I’m like a 7 year old…

I also SCORED with starbucks gift cards – SO many kids in my class bought me one, I swear it’s going to last months – and I couldn’t be more thrilled about it.

    Have a great day!

Several of those Starbucks cards were forwarded from my mom, the teacher, who got them as gifts from her kids, haha.

She’s a tea drinker, and hasn’t opened up to the fact that Starbucks does in fact serve other things other than coffee.

Haha – well, Mike already added this in, but yeah – apparently it’s the thing to get teachers. Luckily his mom is a tea drinker!! Aren’t they just like the most exciting thing ever to open??

And also – being scared over Voldemort is totally acceptable. He’s a pretty freaky dude. Haha.

I love gift cards! This year my husband bought me a Nook….which is basically a digital reader. SO amazing! I love it. You can read alot of books for free and downloading new releases is only $9.99 instead of the usual $35.00 for a new book.

Diana – Ah! I always consider getting a Kindle because it’s so hard to commute with big bulky books. I’ll have to look into the Nook, I’ve never heard of it!

Hm, best gifts? I’d have to say it’s a tie between the beautiful Tiffany necklace the Huz gave me and meeting my niece for the first time!!

Don’t get too freaked out over it! Just imagine that you have a sexy Bill Compton to protect you, haha.

I enjoyed every single one of my gifts. They were all great!

My presents were amazing this year, too. My mother is a mind reader, I swear. The best gift I got, though, was a Christmas card from the students in one of my grad classes. I was unable to finish the semester because I needed to take time off to focus on my health, and my professor informed my class that I was “sick.” They all signed a card for me, and it totally made my day!

Cassie – Aw, that’s so great! Definitely the best gift. You’ll be in my thoughts and prayers for a full recovery! :D

And I know, my whole family was like mind readers this year! It was awesome!
