Description:
This recipe is for lemon-lovers everywhere!
It will help you create a lemon cake that is tart, yet sweet and oh sooooo moist! While it calls for "frosting," it uses it creatively to improve the cake's moistness and flavor.
Cake Ingredients:
- Lemon Cake Mix (Preferably Duncan Hines Lemon Supreme)
- ¾ cup Water
- ¾ cup Vegetable Oil
- 1 pkg. Lemon Jello (3 oz. package WITH Sugar)
- 4 Eggs (whole)
Frosting Ingredients:
- 2 cups Powdered Sugar
- ½ cup Lemon Juice
- 3 tbsp. Melted Butter
Directions:
Combine the cake mix, eggs, water, oil and lemon Jello in a mixing bowl. Whip the ingredients until smooth.
Pour the mixed ingredients into a 9"x13" baking dish or into your favorite formed baking utensil. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
Remove the cake from the oven. Poke many holes in the top of the cake with a fork to allow the frosting mixture to absorb deep into the cake.
In a bowl, mix the frosting ingredients together. Blend until relatively smooth. Pour the mixed frosting ingredients evenly over the cake.
Note: While you can serve the cake at any temperature, most prefer it warm.
