Chocolate Molten Lava Flop

0 · May 9, 2012 · 16 Comments

Sometimes ugly things are delicious.

Have you ever noticed that?

IMG 8239

Particularly ugly baking/cooking things.

And most especially when those things are chocolate.

IMG 8244

Because if we’re being honest (and I usually like to be) – chocolate is chocolate, no matter how ugly it might be.

IMG 8249

And it really all just gets better when your sunken-in molten chocolate cake can be topped with a scoop of ice cream, completelyย revealing the “mistake.”

Let me tell you, sunken in or not, this thing was stinking delicious.

Oozing with warm chocolate lava in the middle…

IMG 8246

Dripping with melted ice cream…

IMG 8269

I seriously “mmm’d” through every bite.

That said, I’ll hold off on the recipe until I actually make it pretty as well as delicious.

I have a feeling it was just the side of the ramekin I used…so hopefully a smaller one will do the trick!

Happy Wednesday everyone ๐Ÿ™‚
