I’ve had a pretty productive morning!
We got our brand new ceiling fan installed in the living room so there will be a little more light + air in there…two things I’m very fond of 🙂
A definitely improvement if you ask me! And just in time for the hot hot heat of the summer
After the installation guys finished I got to work on the pile of laundry that I was supposed to have done right after breakfast. Oops
I don’t mind doing laundry…it’s just the folding and putting away parts that I hate.
Luckily Chad doesn’t seem to mind those parts too much so we make a good team.
By the time I finished my morning tasks it was nearly noon and Chad was on his way home for lunch!
We contemplated what we wanted to do – make something or go out – and ultimately, motivated by our “Restaurant” list:
Decided on going out to try a new place.
The Burger Company has been on my restaurant to-do list for a while now so I was pretty thrilled to be able to try it out!
I immediately fell in love with the atmosphere –
So charming!
We chose a table outside so we could enjoy a little more of the beautiful day and sipped our drinks while we waited for our food.
Plain old water for me:
Oh, hey there lunch date.
(Notice their outdoor ceiling fans?? It was a ceiling fan day all around I guess!)
And in no time, our meals had arrived!
We had burgers and fries on Wednesday for lunch and we’re planning on pizza for dinner so I decided to go with something a little lighter:
A veggie burger salad!
I was pretty excited about it – the black bean burger that came with it was just incredible. Perfectly crisp on the outside with a soft and chewy center.
This salad was originally called “The Man Salad” and came with: crisp greens, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, beef burger, cheese and french fries.
When I was done with it (I nixed the fries, the cheese and the beef burger and subbed in a black bean burger and added avocado) we joked that it had become “The Castrated Man Salad” – I really took the manliness right outta this one.
But it was completely delicious in it’s own right – I think they should think about adding it to the menu!
My qualms about having eaten burgers on Wednesday and going out to pizza tonight were lost on Chad.
He happily ordered himself a cheeseburger with a side of french fries:
Oh to be a boy.
I’m off to take a walk and get a little yoga in.
Hope everyone’s Fridays are moving quickly!!

First of all, I absolutely HATE putting laundry away. it might be one of my least favorite chores to do. and second…that burger looks fantastic! Im with you on the excitement over the burger in a bowl, while my husband could happily eat a cheeseburger and fries multiple times a week. at least now he is open to sweet potato fries 🙂

I’m trying to get Chad to come around to sweet potato fries as well – he actually ate homemade ones the other day so there’s hope yet! 🙂

2. Are you guys living together?! Woohooo
Cait says
1. Haha thank you! I agree 🙂
2. For now! I have to see what programs I get into, but hopefully I can get into one down here so I can stay!

Haha I love how you castrated that salad! I would do the same. Lunch looked delicious and it’s good that we have boys who can carelessly eat those burgers. Toly has been known to eat a burger for lunch and a cheese burger for dinner. He says it’s entirely different because one is plain and one has cheese. Oy! 🙂
Cait says
Hahahahaha – that is too funny. I think Chad and Toly could definitely get along when it comes to their way of thinking!
Glad you appreciate the castrated salad 😉

Ugh. I HATE putting laundry away!! I have a load just finishing right now and the anticipation of the next step is already making me crabby!!! I don’t know why!!! It is really a simple process.
Cait says
Hahah I know right!? I’m the same exact way!
