We’ve had a huge jar of peanut m&ms sitting in the kitchen since the mountain house weekend.
It certainly doesn’t help that they sit in a huge glass jar and stare me in the face all the live long day!
Try studying with that staring you in the face and resist reaching in with every hard math problem.
It’s not easy.
So I decided I needed to do something about it.
My solution?
I was actually a little shocked to find an exact recipe for what I was looking for. I was originally searching for an easy blondie recipe that I would just add the m&ms to instead of chocolate chips, but in my search I came upon that Martha Stewart recipe and was super excited!
She actually also has a candy blondie recipe but I kinda liked the idea of using shortbread instead.
Other than being a little hard to cut through the peanut m&m, these were pretty darn delicious!
And super easy too – definitely worth repeating 🙂
I did a quick 20 minutes of yoga afterward and then it was time for dinner!
I made an easy dish – after spending the afternoon baking I just wanted something with minimal cleanup!
Aidell’s cajun style andouille chicken sausage with baked sweet potatoes.
The sweet potatoes completely stole the show. I drizzled olive oil on top and sprinkled them with cinnamon and salt.
Baked on 425 degrees for about 20 minutes each side (just until crisp around the edges).
Holy cow.
How have I not done the cinnamon/sweet potato combo before?! I’ve definitely been missing out!
Ketchup + mustard for my “hot dog.”
Delicious and easy. Just what I wanted!
Time to watch the shows…with a shortbread candy bar for dessert 🙂

Those look AMAZING! I’m afraid to know how bad they’d be for me though…but boy do I want them!
Cait says
Haha – everything in moderation is what I say! As long as you don’t eat the whole pan in one sitting you should be A-OK 🙂

That reminds me of the Felicity episode where Elena eats a peanut M&M every few minutes while she’s studying 🙂 Your shortbread candy bars look yummy!
Cait says
Haha YES!!! I love that you know that episode!! I think of that every time and actually used it as my own study tactic in college cause of that episode 🙂

Great pics and delicious dessert! I was staying at my sister’s place last week and she and her husband always keep a huge container of M&M’s in the fridge and oh lord, I can’t even count how many handfuls I went back for…they just kept calling out to me ;)!
Cait says
Haha I know!! I think it’s something about their colors. It makes them impossible to resist!

When I lived in Tennessee they ALWAYS put cinnamon on their sweet potatos, or made sweet potato soufflee, which although I havent had it since then, was pretty amazing.
Usually I put chili powder, but I think tonight when I make baked sweet potato wedges, cinnamon might have to make an appearance!
Cait says
Definitely have it make an appearance – it was SO yummy!
Ann Marie says
Sweet potatoes baked with cinnamon and then not only dip in greek yogurt but spike the greek yogurt with a little maple syrup. Holy yum!
Cait says
Ooooh – I like the way you think! That sounds so incredibly good!
