Grilled Veggies

0 · May 16, 2012 · 8 Comments

Since we were low on food in the house after our trip we decided to go to one of our favorite places for our mid-day meal:

Crisp!

(Other trips to Crisp can be found here and here.)

We started off with drinks…

And in no time our food was ready and we were digging in!

I normally get the same salad every time I come here so today I decided to mix it up a little bit and get the grilled vegetable sandwich on whole wheat cibatta bread (making sure to ask first if the veggies were warm or cold, I wasn’t ready to repeat my cold grilled veggie sandwich debacle again!)

The Grilled Veggie sandwich came filled with: Grilled Portobello Mushrooms, Zucchini, Roasted Red Peppers, Fresh Basil, Balsamic Reduction as well as a salad on the side!

The salad veggies were crisp and cold, while the sandwich veggies were nice and hot.  Phew

The sandwich was incredible and while I was pretty jealous of Chad’s salad when they brought it out (he got the Barbecue Chicken Salad)…

But I was ultimately really happy with choice!

It was like the best of both worlds…a delicious sandwich AND a salad.

I’ll definitely be repeating this again…

I love grilled veggies, but I agree: veg should be cold on the salad and hot on a sandwich.. 🙂

I don’t even mind cold raw veggies on a sandwich, it’s just the cold GRILLED veggies that turn my stomach a little bit!
