Mama’s Cooking

We had a nice little celebratory outing tonight.

We went to a place called Mama Ricotta’s which is a cute little Italian restaurant on South King’s.

It was such a cute little place!

We were immediately served some bread and what I originally thought was olive oil…but it turned out to be melted butter!

I found that out the hard way with an overly aggressive dip into the bowl and a subsequent mouthful of butter

I ordered a glass of Murphy Goode Pinot Nior –

And then we browsed the menus…

I started with the Mama’s Salad –

Which came with emulsified balsamic vinaigrette so it was super thick!  Almost like a paste-like consistency.  I kinda loved it.

And for my entree I got the salmon:

I sort of picked around the green olive pesto at first figuring that I’m not an olive fan but ultimately decided to be brave and ended up really liking it!

In fact, the dish as a whole was kind of bland without it.

Overall though, a nice way to spend the night.

Glad it was a pretty good dinner out! (Major boo for a plate of melted butter…I’d rather take the olive oil ANY day!)
