So our plan after leaving Dupont State Park was to head to Asheville, North Carolina which is one of our favorite places. However, as we were walking to the car we were talking about how we’ve never been to Greenville, South Carolina and it’s a place that we keep hearing about. A quick check of hotel availability and we rearranged our plan and headed there.
Downtown Greenville is what I firmly believe downtown of every city should be like. It’s absolutely incredible. I’ve lived in and visited a lot of cities and I have to say this is far and away one of the most unique I’ve ever come across.
We stayed right downtown and were able to walk everywhere (which I would highly recommend because there’s just so much to see and do right there). We arrived late on Saturday night so we headed straight to dinner.

We walked around and scoped out all the restaurants (of which there are MANY) and ended up going to a place called the Nose Dive.
Chad got a burger and I got steak & frites which was braveheart hanger steak topped with a mustard and mushroom sauce , fingerling potatoes and asparagus-gruyere crème brulee. We both really enjoyed our dishes and the service was friendly and attentive!
We stopped into Poppington’s Gourmet Popcorn on the way back to the hotel and got some sea salt caramel popcorn to munch on. SO good.
The next morning we were up and out the door early and I had only one place in mind: Methodical Coffee!
This place far exceeded my expectations. I got an almond milk latte and I swear to you, it was probably one of the best I’ve ever had.
We also had to split a Circa doughnut. I’d read all about them and knew our trip to Greenville wouldn’t be complete without one! It was as good as everyone raved.
Everything from the design and decor to the dishes Methodical Coffee uses was amazing. If we lived here, this would 100% be my go-to coffee place.
After Methodical Coffee we walked all through Falls Park which is the most ingenious place I’ve ever seen smack in the middle of downtown in a city. Words literally can’t describe how great this area is.

After Falls Park we headed over to Passerelle Bistro for brunch.
Chad got the farro and strawberry which came with fresh strawberries, goat cheese, pea sprouts, farro, arugula, hazelnuts and lemon-basil vinaigrette. I got the vegetable omelet with a side of mixed greens. Both were incredible! We were sad to find out they had no more croissants (which they import from France!) but just another reason to go back!
We walked off our meals exploring the rest of downtown including a visit to the Mast General Store which was amazing.

Our last stop before heading out was at Southern Pressed Juicery for some smoothies to take on the road with us.

We absolutely loved our time here and would both highly recommend you check it out if you ever get the chance!
