100% whole wheat strawberry waffles for brunch!
These were so delicious!
Especially considering I just kind of made them on a whim.
My sister and I couldn’t decide what we felt like for brunch.
Or rather, what we felt motivated to actually get up and make.
Waffles are my go-to lazy brunch food.
All you have to do is mix up the batter
And pour it into the preheated waffle iron.
It doesn’t get much easier (or more delicious) than that!
Until you add sliced strawberries to the batter…
Then top it with melted chunky peanut butter:
100% Whole Wheat Strawberry Waffles (adapted from King Arthur’s whole wheat waffles recipe)
- 1 1/2 cups 100% Whole Wheat Flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 cups lukewarm soymilk
- 1/3 cup canola oil
- Sliced strawberries
Pour combined batter into prepared waffle iron and enjoy!
These look delicious!!! I think I might have to whip a batch up for dinner. Brinner is totally a thing, right?? lol
Absolutely!!
What a yummy looking weekend breakfast! Except I would not be as restrained with my peanut butter usage…my motto is the more PB, the better 🙂
Haha oh don’t worry, I went back in for way more dips 🙂
Yum! I don’t have a waffle maker. Dang it… These can always be turned into pancakes right?
It’s worth a try! They just might be very thick 🙂
I just bought some raspberry waffles at the store (for the hubby) as they are his favorite. But homemade strawberry waffles would rock his world!
Definitely make them for him then! These were DELISH!
These look delicious and hearty! A perfect breakfast for sure!!! MMMMmmmmmm!
