We decided to celebrate with our four legged baby early last night with a movie night in!
I don’t know if it’s just us, maybe we’re getting old, but my husband and I would prefer a nice movie night in to a movie night out any day of the week.
There’s something about getting to be in your pajamas, on your comfortable couch, the ability to pause the movie to get up when you need that just that we just find so nice.
And especially now that we have Ollie, we would feel so guilty leaving him for hours to go see a movie.
The other thing I absolutely love about getting to watch a movie at home is that you’re in charge of your own snacks! That means I can choose less sugary options (like popcorn!) and my husband can have his sugary choices without having to spend $50 on separate snacks 🙂
While I love popcorn as an anytime snack, to me popcorn and movies together are a must. When we do actually go to the movies, I usually end up sneaking my own bag in so that I don’t have to get the movie theater popcorn (which is usually overpriced and drenched in liquid butter). That’s why I was thrilled to give G.H. Cretors‘ Movie Night Kit a try! They included the coziest blanket from West Elm, two of their their obsessively delicious flavors, a pack of tissues and two movies.
It made for the best and most delicious Saturday night in.
We tried The Mix flavor, which is caramel and cheese (a combo I’ve never had despite it being pretty famous!) and their Just the Cheese Corn – both of which were fantastic. Full of flavor but not super heavy like some flavored popcorns can be. They make their artisanal popcorn is made in small batches using only the highest quality ingredients and you can absolutely tell!
While we also really loved Moonlight (which was our movie of choice for last night), Ollie was only interested in the popcorn (he definitely approved as was evident by the half a bowl he gobbled down when we weren’t looking!
Overall, it was a perfect family night in and we’ll definitely be doing this much more! (We may just have to put the popcorn up a little higher so our little popcorn monster doesn’t eat it all on us!)
