3 creative, fiber-rich breakfast ideas

16 · Mar 1, 2020 · Leave a Comment

this post is brought to you in partnership with Kellogg’s® Frosted Mini Wheats®.

Hi friends! Did you know this week is National Breakfast Week? If you’ve been in a breakfast rut, use this week as a reason to get more creative in the kitchen with your morning meal!

When I’m in a meal rut, one of the things that helps me get more creative is to think about nutrients I might be low in for the day, week or month and build some meal ideas around foods that feature those. It helps give me some parameters and guidance so I have a starting place. From there it’s just mixing and matching flavors I love.

So, if you’re in a breakfast rut and need some inspiration, I’ve got you covered! In honor of National Breakfast Week, I teamed up with Kellogg’s Frosted Mini-Wheats to show you three easy ways to serve up one nutrient most Americans aren’t getting enough of: fiber. All three are inspired by one of my favorite cereals: Frosted Mini-Wheats! Not only do they taste great, but they’re also an easy, tasty and convenient way to get a little more fiber in your day. If fact, did you know Kellogg’s has 30 different cereals that are at least a good source of fiber? Adding fiber to the diet is a great way to support digestive health, which is key to overall wellness. So dig into the combinations below and hopefully you can find at least one new fiber-filled breakfast to add into your rotation!

Option One: Frosted Mini-Wheats topped with Cinnamon Bananas

Owen absolutely loves this one. He’s all about everything cinnamon/banana so he gobbles this up no problem. And I love it because he’s getting a good dose of different types of fibers with the cereal and the fruit!

Option Two: Frosted Mini-Wheats topped with Strawberries

This is my absolute favorite way to eat Frosted Mini-Wheats. The crunchiness of the cereal makes a great base and the slightly sweet, slightly tart taste of the fresh strawberries is the perfect hidden surprise in every spoonful! It’s also delicious with raspberries and a drizzle of nut butter (which makes it feel reminiscent of a pb&j!).

Option Three: Frosted Mini-Wheat Yogurt, Apples & Nut Butter Parfait

This parfait is such a fun way to mix up the usual bowl of cereal! I like to pour a little milk over each layer juuust to soak the biscuits then layer yogurt, diced apple and peanut butter over the top. I repeat that twice and viola! A delicious parfait with fiber (plu fat from the nut butter)! I hope you find something you love or a little inspiration here to re-vamp your morning routine!
