Do It At Home

0 · May 10, 2012 · 6 Comments

One of my favorite things to do is perfect a favorite restaurant dish at home.

Don’t get me wrong, I love eating out, but it’s also nice knowing that the dishes I love to have out, I can have at home anytime I want.

So today I decided to re-create my favorite salad from Crisp:

What costs $11 to eat at Crisp, cost me just $5 at home!

Okay, so I don’t actually know how much it cost to make at home…but I would guess it would be somewhere around there…and certainly far less than $11.  So either way, I’m happy with the results.

Into the mix went:

  • Baby romaine
  • Chopped cucumbers
  • Shredded carrots
  • Walnut halves
  • Dried cranberries
  • Hard boiled egg
  • Avocado
  • Edamame

Topped with red wine vinegar and olive oil.

Paired with a juicy orange!

A pretty darn good lunch – happily enjoyed outside on the balcony.

Speaking of “doing it at home” – I think I’m going to do a little living room yoga session soon.  I’ve recently made more of an effort to incorporate yoga again and I’m just loving it.

Hope everyone’s day is moving right along!

Salads are such a rip off when you buy them out. I much prefer enjoying them at home!

That looks delicious, love the combination of proteins in there! One of my favorite salads is the Thai chopped chicken from Panera, maybe I will try to recreate that one at home 🙂

I needed a salad recipe for a potluck this weekend, and I’ll have to try this, I hope mine will look as pretty as your salad.

Awesome! Good luck! I would also suggest this one as it only gets better as it sits and marinates: https://caitsplate.com/2012/05/08/cranberry-apple-wheat-berry-salad/ 🙂
