Will Run for Pizza

1 · May 16, 2012 · 25 Comments

When Chad got home from work we immediately changed and headed back out on a 4 mile run.

It felt so good to get out and run together – injuries, schedules and other things had forced us to run solo over the past couple of weeks so we were really happy to get to go together this evening.

When we came back, we showered and then got started on dinner.

Naan pizzas courtesy of Stonefire!

Stonefire Tandoori Naan has always been my favorite kind so you can imagine my excitement when they reached out to me and offered me some samples to try out and review for the blog!

First up was naan pizzas – one of my absolute favorite things to do with naan (other than warm it and dip it in olive oil + salt)

We laid each of our naan flatbreads onto a pan lined with foil…

Then we gathered our toppings…

We set out to make a pesto mozzarella pizza and a half pepperoni/half cheese pizza:

Into the oven on 400 degrees for about 20 minutes and viola!

Split half and half…

Delicious.

The naan holds up so perfectly as pizza – crisping wonderfully on the outside while keeping a soft and chewy center.  A great use for these for sure!

Thanks again for Stonefire for the sample – I can’t wait to use the rest of my goodies!

Night all!

What an awesome use for naan! I LOVE naan and it’s been awhile since I’ve had it. it’s also been awhile since I had pizza. What are we seeing in my future…? 😉

Yeah! She’s got a whole line of pastas, pestos, kitchenware, etc. The pesto was really good and only $2.99!

I’ve been all about using that Naan to make grilled pizza. It always comes out perfectly on the grill!

I agree! I WISH I had a grill to cook it on! That’s on the “to-get” list for summer 🙂

I use the same naan but only with Indian food and hummus-no pizza pies. Good thinking!

That Naan looks amazing! I have never actually had naan purchased from a grocery store, but what a great idea to use it for pizza crust. I often use pitas or tortillas but that seems like it would have a much better texture! As always, thanks for a fabulous new dinner idea!!!
