It was a busy afternoon!

Clara was looking a little gloomy (I think she misses her Mommy)…

IMG 9003

So I decided to take her for a walk to cheer her up!

She perked up the moment I said “Clara, do you want to go for a walk!?”

IMG 8999

The word “walk” alone would’ve done the trick!

We did a slow mile around the block and then I came back to do a nice hour-long session of yoga.

IMG 9023

Clara stayed close by me with her toy should I want to take a break and play randomly throughout the session…ha.

IMG 9019

Such dedication.

The yoga session was good but I think my tolerance for longer yoga sessions is waning.  I used to take an hour long class every single week day when I was in college but in my “older age” I’ve found I enjoy the 20-40 minute sessions best.

It’s funny how things like that change.  Maybe the busier you get, the more appealing the quicker bursts of exercise become…who knows!

Lunch followed – and it was something I haven’t had in such a long time!

IMG 9011

A veggie burger salad!

I can’t remember the last time I had one of these…it’s definitely been far too long and I have to say it tasted good!

IMG 9013

Into the bowl went:

  • Spring mix
  • Avocado
  • Dr. Praeger’s California Veggie Burger
  • Shredded carrots
  • Onions

Topped with red wine vinegar and oil.

IMG 9015

On the side I had a bunch of fresh fruit that I picked up from the salad bar at the grocery store:

IMG 9014

Grapes > Watermelon > Pineapple > Strawberries > Cantaloupe.

Refreshing.

I thought the pineapple would be my favorite but I think I enjoyed the red grapes best!

IMG 9018

A terrific lunch.

After lunch I went out to get a quick manicure/pedicure (Chad and I have a wedding to go to this weekend) and then came home to snack…

IMG 9024

This orange was WAY too dry.  I hate when that happens.

A handful of dry roasted almonds was added for a little more snack satisfaction:

IMG 9028

They did the trick!

I munched on them while watching Gilmore Girls:

IMG 9027

A couple episodes later, it was time for dinner!

Another favorite that I haven’t had in a while…

IMG 9029

Homemade Mexican!

Burrito…

IMG 9032

Made with turkey, homemade guacamole, salsa, lettuce.

IMG 9034

Blue corn chips…

IMG 9030

Homemade guac + salsa for dipping:

IMG 9031

IMG 9033

Deliciously filling and satisfying!

IMG 9035

Mom and I are now on the couch getting ready to catch up on last night’s Modern Family.

Night!

I find when I’ve taken a long break from yoga I have to re-work myself up to those hour practice–not out of physical weakness, but mental.

Love the GG. Going to rewatch the whole show when I have some time. It’s my favorite.

That’s true – it’d be interesting to see if I were more consistent with it, if that happened!

And yay! Me too. I own the whole series on DVD and watch it over and over!

What a wonderful and relaxing day you had! I used to eat Dr. Pregers veggie burger salads all of the time but I haven’t bought them in ages. Seeing yours is making me crave one now. Old school veggie burger salads are where it’s at!

You’re a good doggy mommy 🙂 I’m going to take our yellow lab for a walk to the park as soon as my daughter gets up from her nap!

Your burrito looks so fresh and yummy…most of the time I prefer homemade to what you can get at Chipotle or one of those places!

I agree – homemade is always better. And thank you! Enjoy your walk in the park!

I’ve been loving salads like that recently- perfect lunch especially now that the weather is warming up! I’m with you about yoga- anything more than 30 minutes and I start to lose interest!

Clara is so cute! My poodle does the exact same thing when I work out at home, even when I’m doing crossfit or something and jumping around like a maniac he’s following me with his favorite toy. 🙂

    Aww, Clara, Clara!

Also, my patience for yoga is dwindling, too. I just can’t get myself there mentally…which I suppose is the point, haha.

Awww Clara!! I love how dogs are so happy when confronted with the simplest of things. Walk, toys, affection etc it’s too cute! And they do love to get involved when you workout at home, don’t they? Bless! 🙂
