sharing some of my favorite snaps from the week.
Happy Sunday friends!
I hope you all had a good week. We used most of Monday to just enjoy the extra day to be all together. The kids and I made pancakes in the morning (using our favorite recipe), then we spent the rest of the morning talking with the kids about Martin Luther King Jr. – what his mission was, the good work he did and why he was such an important figure. We also talked about how his work still continues to this day and how we have a responsibility to make his dreams a reality.
We watched this, which inspired us to make our own Peace Tree with our own leaves, which is what Owen is posing in front of in that picture up there.
We also did at home haircuts, lots more baseball and s’mores, per Owen’s request. It was a good day.
The rest of the week flew by in the usual blur. I found some time in between it all to finish Spare (Prince Harry’s memoir, which I liked, but didn’t love), All Good People Here (which I loved, but it ends very abruptly with lots of questions – I’m hoping she writes a sequel) and start Black Cake.
Other than that we spent a lot of time outside since the weather was nice. We blew up and deflated this bounce house pretty much every day (I was unsure of this purchase but whole heartedly support it now – the kids love it and it’s really easy to set up and take down. We’ve only had it for about a month, but so far, I highly recommend it if you’re in the market), spent a ton of time at the park and also squeezed in some movement (we’re big fans of the Calm App in our household).
And that about sums up the week!
