CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER BANANA GREEN SMOOTHIE

This is officially the summer of green smoothies for me.

Ever since learning how to actually make my green smoothies green, I can’t help but default to them.

To me there’s nothing better than getting a heaping serving of greens first thing in the morning.  There’s just something that feels so good about knowing you’re ahead of the game in terms of your vitamin, mineral and fiber intake by 8am.

That said, the beauty of this recipe is that you can actually drink it for dessert so, even if you skimped on veggies all day long, you can look forward to knowing that you still have this baby waiting for you after dinner.

And the best part is that when you drink it, all you’ll feel is your sweet tooth craving being satisfied.  Other than the color, you won’t know you’re drinking greens at all!

So go ahead and fill ‘er up.  Even those with the biggest sweet tooth in your life will happily sip away on this!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups raw spinach
  • 3 frozen medium bananas (I just peeled, placed in a ziploc bag and froze over night)
  • 1-2 heaping tablespoon(s) of peanut butter (depending on how much peanut butter flavor you want)
  • 1 cup chocolate almond milk

Instructions

  1. combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor and process until smooth (add more almond milk if the ingredient is too thick for your liking, that will thin it out)
  2. serve with a straw
