this post is brought to you in partnership with Sunkist®.

I know you guys are with me in loving these one skillet meals!  There’s nothing better on a busy weeknight (or a night where you just don’t really feel like cooking) to just toss everything in one pan and have a meal on the table 15 minutes later, am I right?

I like to pair mine with some brown rice and a stir-fry veggie mix or broccoli for an easy and delicious meal that tastes like I spent WAY more time on it than I did!

And, because you all know just how obsessed with cara cara oranges I am, I also add a little Sunkist® Cara Cara orange zest to the top along with some green onions.  Optional of course, but I highly recommend both!

Not only does the juice and zest from the cara cara orange pack a huge flavor punch (and beautiful orange color due to the natural presence of lycopene!), but they’re also an excellent source of vitamin C (just one provides 100% of the recommended daily value) and folate, while also providing fiber.  It’s no wonder why Sunkist call this The Power Orange. There’s truly nothing not to like about these beauties.

As an added bonus, this honey orange glaze would be delicious with chicken, salmon or even frozen shrimp, so feel free to pull what you’ve got on hand and make it work!

From there you can get creative with how you serve them up!  They could be tacos, served with roasted potatoes, together with rice & stir-fry veggies (my favorite!)…the sky is the limit!  No matter how you choose to serve them up, I hope you love this dish as much I did!

And don’t worry, if this dish isn’t for you, Sunkist® has tons of delicious recipe ideas on their site for you to explore!

Description

this delicious honey orange glazed skillet shrimp uses just 8 ingredients, one pan and takes 15 minutes to pull together making it a staple for busy weekdays!

Ingredients

Scale
  • Pat of butter or drizzle of oil
  • 1 lb. large shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 1/3 – 1/2 cup freshly squeezed juice from a Sunkist® Cara Cara orange (about 1 or 1 1/2 oranges, depending on size)
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced or grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy or Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • For serving: 1-2 teaspoons Sunkist® Cara Cara orange zest, chopped fresh green onion

Instructions

  1. Place a large non-stick or cast iron skillet over medium heat and add a pad of butter or a drizzle of olive oil.
  2. Once oil is hot, add shrimp cooking 1-2 minutes per side or until they just begin to turn pink and opaque.
  3. Add orange to the skillet and allow to cook for 1-2 minutes or until just slightly reduced.
  4. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds, or until just fragrant (being careful not to burn or you’ll get a bitter flavor).
  5. Bring the heat up to medium-high and add soy sauce, honey, sprinkle of salt and pepper.  Toss to combine, flipping the shrimp to evenly cook & coat.  Cook for another 1-2 minutes (until sauce thickens slightly).
  6. Top with desired garnish and serve!

Notes

  • If using frozen shrimp, I recommend cooking in a separate pan from the glaze so that the additional water run-off in the pan as the shrimp cooks doesn’t cause the glaze to be too loose.
