instagram recipe roundup // cait's plate

Hello all and happy 2017!  Just popping in for a quick instagram recipe roundup.

On Christmas morning we enjoyed two kinds of baked french toast:

Gingerbread Baked French Toast (the only difference is that we used homemade whole wheat brioche)

Chai Spiced Baked French Toast (the only difference is that we used homemade whole wheat brioche)

My sister and I also finally got around to recreating the chocolate cherry chip loaf that they mention in 12 Dates of Christmas and the results were absolutely incredible.

12 Dates of Christmas Chocolate Cherry Chip Loaf (adapted from FoodieCrush)

Ingredients
¼ cup unsalted butter
¾ cup sugar
2 large eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
¾ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup milk
1 cup dried sweet cherries, roughly chopped
1/2 cup white chocolate chips

1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter and flour a loaf pan

In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until well blended. Add the eggs one at a time and beat until incorporated. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt and add to the sugar mixture alternating with the milk. Gently fold in the cherries and chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the bread pan and bake for 55-60 minutes or until the bread has pulled away from the sides of the pan and the top is golden brown. Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes then transfer to a cooling rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
