We had our last taste of Chicago today before heading out.

Perfect Oatmeal with all the fixin’s and an iced coffee with soymilk.

Followed by some walking…which if you follow me on Instagram, you’ve already gotten a taste of 😉

I literally walked everywhere.

Up Michigan Ave.

Down Michigan Ave.

To Oak Street Beach.

Past Navy Pier.

Up E Illinois.

Until I hit the Fox & Obel.

If you read Eat Like Me religiously like I did, you might remember that Cristin was obsessed with this place when she visited Chicago.  And all I can say is…I can see why!

I hunkered myself down in a table and enjoyed a lovely lunch!

Half the Signature Club Sandwich (ham, turkey, meunster cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato and pesto mayo on whole grain bread) which came with homemade chips and a pickle along with half a Signature Side Salad (mixed greens topped with carrots, candied pecans (there’s nothing quite like a candied nut that can get me to down a salad in minutes), tomatoes and goat cheese).

I honestly cannot recommend both items enough.  By far my favorite lunch during my time in Chicago.

Lunch was followed with more walking – it felt so nice to be in a walking city again!  Definitely the thing I miss most about being in the Northeast.

And a quick trip to the airport with a Quizno’s sandwich for dinner!

The trip went by in a blur but we had such a good time!  If you’re just catching up on the trip:

Chi-Town!

Breakfast at Grand Lux Cafe

Summer Night

Yolk

West Egg Cafe

Now we’re off to catch up on some sleep!

I LOVE Chicago. I really think I could live there! Did you go to any of the Frank Lloyd Wright homes? They are breath taking…

    Have a safe trip home!

What a fun trip!! I miss Fox and Obel, I used to study there all the time and of course ate my lunches there. Their soups are really yummy too. I went to Northwestern for medical school, you may have walked by the campus downtown!

I know – if it weren’t so hot I would’ve happily gobbled up their soup! And I definitely saw a lot of Northwestern shirts, shorts and sweatshirts around!
