Nice to Be Home

Well we didn’t wake up here this morning…

But I gotta say, as much as I loved hearing the sound of the ocean and the seeing the waves crash against the beach upon rising, there’s also just something so nice about being home when you’ve been away.

If you missed my vacation:

Home Again, Home Again

Unlike yesterday, I didn’t miss breakfast today!

And I even made sure to bring a little beach back with me to savor our trip a little longer

Despite the beachy seashells, it’s actually a little rainy out there so I went with a big old bowl of warm oats for this morning’s meal:

Apple Peanut Butter Oats

  • 1/2 cup Trader Joe’s rolled oats (quickly becoming a favorite of mine!)
  • 1 tbsp. chia seeds
  • 3/4 golden delicious apple, diced
  • 1/3 cup water

Just nuked in the microwave for about 2 minutes then topped with a spoonful of peanut butter and…

Love Grown Simply Oats granola!

This stuff just bursts with a cinnamon-y smell the moment you open the bag.  It made the perfect compliment to my morning bowl.

My amazing friend Katie sent these over to me as part of my BLEND goodie bag.  I missed the retreat and she, with her big heart, made sure to save me some goodies to send along.  Love her.

I enjoyed a steaming mug of coffee on the side:

And now I’m off to hit the books!

Happy hump day everyone!!

I totally agree, I love getting home after vacation. Even if I loved where I was, there’s just something about being home after being away. 🙂

Every time someone says “Hump Day” I get the Humpty song stuck in my head. LOL!

I agree with the wonderful feeling of coming home after a vacation… Nohing like the warm smells of your own home and the good ole lumpy bed.

It’s silly but after a vacation sometimes I feel like I need to go on a vacation 😛

P.S. We always collect shells on our trips- great keepsakes and there are so many fun things you can do with them!

I know that feeling! Especially if it’s an active vacation! And I love that you collect shells too! It really is true there’s so much you can do with them 🙂
