I don’t know about you guys, but a homemade granola bar bursting with banana flavor and is done in under 30 minutes is a total mom win for me. In fact, it’s just a win on a basic human level!
Even better is that these granola bars are made using Chiquita bananas featuring their Pink Sticker program. You may or may not have noticed this month that the usual blue sticker on your Chiquita bananas has gone pink and it’s for an incredible cause. Through the month of October, more than 200 million Chiquita bananas will feature pink ribbons for Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Chiquita is committed to helping the American Cancer Society (ACS) and supporting its mission to save lives by making important advances in prevention, early detection, treatment, and care for those with cancer. The Pink Sticker program works to increase awareness and encourage action from millions of consumers in the fight against breast cancer.
These Pink Stickers are there to serve as a simple reminder. First and foremost, they remind you of the importance of eating well in helping to reduce your cancer risk. They also hopefully remind you to donate, sign up for a Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® walk, or get recommended screenings. Who knew one little sticker could do so much!?
And best of all, once you bring home those cute little pink stickered bananas, you can whip up a batch of these Chiquita granola bars!
These bars are not only affordable, but they also adhere to the American Cancer Society’s nutrition guidelines which recommend a diet that emphasizes fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and limits red and processed meat, to help reduce the risk of cancer.
These bars definitely accomplish that – they’re loaded with whole grains, heart-healthy fats and fruit making them a perfect grab and go snack for you and lunchbox treat for your kids.
And speaking of kids, because these bars come together so easily, it’s a great recipe to sit down and make together. Your kids will love mashing the bananas, helping measure out the ingredients and mixing them all up!
The only downside to these granola bars is that they’re so delicious, they’ll go fast! So make sure you sneak yourself one before the rest of the family gobbles them all up!
