Somethin’ ‘Bout a Waffle

0 · Jun 23, 2012 · 4 Comments

I woke up with this song in my head…hence the title of my post.

Though it is true.

There’s just something about waffles on a weekend morning that you can’t beat.

Especially souped up waffles stacked on top of one another!

These were the last two waffles from my Kodiak Whole Wheat, Honey, Oat mix batch from the other day.

Making a few extra waffles to freeze is always such a good idea.  I need to remember to do this more often.

I took my two waffles and tossed them in the toaster oven to toast while I combined some 0% Trader Joe’s Plain Greek Yogurt with 1 tbsp. chia seeds.

Then I got to work on dicing the peach.

When the waffles popped up I simply slathered each with a little Trader Joe’s Sunflower Seed Butter then layered each with yogurt and peaches.

A summery breakfast filled with summer colors, eaten while relaxing outside on the balcony!  Just another way to celebrate the season 🙂

Hey, is that really Greek yogurt? I thought Trader Joe’s only made Greek-STYLE yogurt. I didn’t realize that they were different things until I read about it on My Food ‘n’ Fitness Diaries. Greek style yogurt is still regular yogurt, but just made creamier or something. That’s why it doesn’t have the same protein content and stuff.

Oh, and I forgot to say that I really like your pictures! Haha, it all looks yummy but I was distracted by the fact that you talked about Trader Joe’s Greek yogurt. I used to buy it all the time, too, but got kind of peeved when I learned that it wasnt real Greek yogurt.

Haha – thank you! And I don’t blame you – that’s definitely pretty disappointing!

Oh good to know! I had no idea there was a difference either!
