sharing my week in photos (& words!)
the week of 1.31.2023
Hi friends!
I can’t believe we’re already in February! I think I was a little snap happy this week because we were all finally starting to feel better from our colds, so sorry for the deluge of photos 😂
We had a pretty good week – both kids were back in school which meant they got to see their friends and I had more time to focus on stuff that I wanted to get done here. A win-win all around.
In food, I broke out two oldie but goodie recipes: my favorite veggie sandwich (except now I use white cheddar and add olive oil and vinegar too) and my apple pb chia seed oats recipe. When I went to link the oat recipe here I noticed that I hadn’t updated it since I started adding a couple teaspoons of brown sugar. It makes ALL the difference, so I went ahead and made that fix.
If you saw my Loving this Month post for January then you know that I’m really into the show Shrinking on AppleTV. The latest episode came out this past Friday and it didn’t disappoint. It’s heart-warming and hilarious all at the same time. I also started The 1619 Project docuseries on Hulu and am really liking it so far.
Speaking of talent from the Black community, I’m dying to get to Target because there are so many Black-owned or designed products they highlighted online that I want to check out in person.
- I’m obsessed with these dolls – I really love the Aaliyah, the Frankie and the Ashton.
- I love this creativity bundle and the story behind why it was created.
- I’m excited to look through this book to see if it’s a good kid-friendly way to talk about Black history with the kids.
- As someone who basically always has dry hair, I really want to try this hair mask.
- These crackers look incredible.
- This face mask
- And this candle
Other than that, I finished Black Cake (I really liked it) and started We Were Never Here which my sister got me for Christmas. And that pretty much sums up the week over here! I hope you all had an enjoyable one on your end ♥️
