Mish-Mosh Dish-Tosh

August 4, 2009 · 15 Comments

Your favorite workout answers gave me SUCH motivation! I’ve never tried hot yoga, but I’m definitely curious to do it! It seems people either LOVE it or HATE it so I wonder which type I’d be…

Anyway – despite my HUUUUGE coffee this morning, I found myself really dragging around 1pm and fell prey to the Starbucks in our building

I devoured this guy! It was totally insane, but I guess I needed it. Just hope I can actually fall asleep tonight!

After work I headed to Best Buy and Staples to begin my camera hunt but I didn’t have much luck. I found one that I liked but of course they were out of stock. It’s probably better I didn’t buy anything today…I need to do a bit more researching before I commit

When I got home I contemplated going for a run but decided it was better to eat first since I had a somewhat early lunch.

Dinner ended up being a mish-mosh of wonderful!

I threw together a big salad topped with a veggie burger, almond slivers and half a gala apple -

Paired with a roly poly plum -

And some more o’ that delicious roasted corn -

Filling and delicious, just what I needed!

After dinner I was craving a little something sweet so I broke out the last of my rainier cherries -

I plowed straight through this stash. They call these “nature’s candy” and my-oh-my, they seriously couldn’t be more on point with that! I’m so sad they’re gone!!

I’m one exhausted girl so I’ll definitely be calling it an early night (guess I’ll be able to sleep after all!) but hopefully I can get a small run in first!

Off to digest/relax with Two and a Half Men for now though…Night everyone!

Time for a New Camera!

August 4, 2009 · 29 Comments

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I have a quick minute so of course the first thing I chose to do was BLOG!

First of all – MY CAMERA BROKE!

OYE! I seriously have the worst luck with electronics! I guess it was over four years old, so it lasted me a good while…but still. Moooore money down the drain! It’s right about now that I’m really starting to wish it actually DID grow on trees!

Anyway, sorry for the less than stellar pictures, I’m using my terrible 2.0 megapixel backup camera.

If you all have any suggestions for good cameras, I’m taking them!!

To break my fast this morning (  ) I dug into an egg white wrap on those delicious whole wheat roll ups that I got from Costco.

On the side I had a mixture of rainier cherries and strawberries -

And of course a homemade venti soy misto (just used the Starbucks cup)

Lunch was packed and absolutely delish -

Hummus and greens on another whole wheat roll up + a juicy summertime peach -

With some vanilla Brown Cow yogurt (I’ve never tried this before and was curious so I picked it up) + a peanut butter cookie Larabar

The Brown Cow yogurt was definitely not my favorite.  It wasn’t terrible, but  I prefer my Oikos

The rest of my lunch break today will have to be spent running a couple errands and then it’s back to work, work, work! It’s been a crazy week, but at least that means it’s going by fast right??

I hope to get a yoga session in tonight – I’ve missed it in my long absence!

Oh!  And I loved hearing all your fun Starbucks orders… all things chai seemed to be the most popular choice!

A Day in the Life of Cait

August 3, 2009 · 24 Comments

Well guys, I couldn’t stay away from you long!

There are a million other things that I should be doing right now but I just couldn’t resist sharing my day with you!

So without further ado, I present you with…

A Day in the Life of Cait :)

I woke up at around 5am showered and packed the car FULL of all my stuff. I wish I had taken a picture! I didn’t realize the gravity of my Costco buy until I was hauling it all into my sister’s car!!

While I was packing I ate a delicious breakfast of vanilla Oikos, a peanut butter Larabar and some perfect rainier cherries -

It was absolutely perfect. I LOVE how Oikos sits like a solid rock in my stomach – keeps me full for EVER! :D

On our way into Hoboken, my sister, Patrick and I made a pit stop at Starbucks (VENTI soy misto for me!) which I happily sipped throughout the morning ;)

The rest of the day was work, work, work! It was a seriously manic Monday! I broke for a quick lunch around noon -

A wrapped and rolled veggie burger with lettuce + mustard -

Some more Oikos (which I actually didn’t get to :( ) -

The remainder of my rainier cherries from this morning -

And two yummy plumbles -

After this it was right back to work! Though I did manage to sneak in a small snack around 4pm ;)

It’s a good thing I did because it ended up being a late night!

When I got home I peeked into my newly re-stocked fridge (thanks for unpacking Shan and Patrick!!) for some dinner -

I threw together an awesome salad topped with panko breaded cod

And some oven roasted corn on the cob -

This meal totally hit the spot after what was a verrrry long day. And best of all I found my whiteboard had been decorated by Shan and Patrick before they left :)

I miss you two already and can’t wait to see you again!

I’m off to spend some time with Mike as we were apart all weekend!!

…Until next update! :)

Question of the Day:

Are you a Starbucks fan? What’s your go-to order?

So Much to Sea!

July 28, 2009 · 8 Comments

Mike and I had an absolute BLAST at the Georgia Aquarium this afternoon! Seriously, we were like two kids in a candy shop :)

After we’d had our fill we headed back home to re-fuel with some lunch.

I wasn’t that hungry but I knew I should use up more of my perishable items since we leave tomorrow ( :( ) so I dug into my yogurt and fruit for a very well ROUNDed lunch

Vanilla Chobani with a crumbled peanut butter cookie Larabar -

A famous Georgia peach -

And a lovely little fruit salad filled with watermelon, cherries and pineapple -

T’was delish!

Now that we’re recharged we’re off to The Cook’s Warehouse then Stone Mountain for a hike! :)

See you all for dinner!

FEED Me!

July 18, 2009 · 9 Comments

Afternoon folks -

I had a very productive morning getting most of my errands and tasks out of the way.  I actually combined my exercise with one of my tasks and went on a 30-minute run to Target.

It was H.O.T out there.  I love to do my exercise mid-day, but in the summer it’s really just not smart to do.  Here are a few things I learned today from my run:

1. A Taylor Ham Egg White bagel does not a great pre-run meal make

2. Running at noon on an 80 degree July day is NOT wise (I had to stop mid-way and rehydrate; luckily I remembered WATER this time!)

3. Trying to run with a cellphone, debit card, items list, keys AND a water bottle is not easy.

Hope these tips help you on your next run

Anyway, despite the aforementioned problems, the run was actually pretty enjoyable and I felt good.  Sometimes I wish Target was a little further away!

When I got home I still felt pretty stuffed from my breakfast so I just had a light lunch to hold myself over until dinner.

I decided to try a new granola that I picked up the other day called Feed:

I threw it on top of a Strawberry Banana Light n’ Fit and broke out my white cherries that I didn’t get to this morning:

The granola was perfect as a mix-in.  I’m not sure how it would be as a cold cereal since it seemed a little…sticky almost?  But I really enjoyed it as a yogurt topping.

Mike should be getting back from baseball soon so I gotta start wrapping things up around here.  We have plans tonight to see some friends so I better get crackin’!

Until dinner!
