Cherishing Cherries

Do cherries just scream summertime or what?

I’ll tell you: they do.

It was a summertime lunch all around!

Love this blue mason jar.

The big hitter for lunch was a turkey sandwich –

It might look ordinary but it was good.

I piled two slices of 100% whole wheat bread with turkey, avocado, hummus and lettuce.

Watching and leaning about the newly passed Obama Care.  Not sure what I think about it quite yet…

I just bought the best cherries yet last weekend at a random side fruit stand. They rocked my summer!

    • Cait

Woohoo! This batch was my first purchase this summer and surprisingly VERY good! :)

I was just thinking about you this morning as I made the most delicious peach, cherry, chobani and trader joes sunflower butter waffle stack.
it may have been the best at-home breakfast ever!!!

    • Cait

Yessss! I love that! And now you’ve got me craving the same!

Why do your cherries look so much lighter in color than mine?? Just curious! :) I absolutely love cherries. They are definitely one of my favorite fruits! :)

    • Cait

This is a mix of rainier and red cherries – the lighter ones are the rainier :) They’re delicious! You can read about them here.

I am obsessed with cherries! They are sooo fresh!

    • Cait

Same :) If anything can be considered “nature’s candy” I’d say these guys could!

  • http://www.thenondairyqueen.com/ Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen)

I have been snacking big time in cherries! They are so good right now.

    • Cait

Agreed – I just LOVE cherry season! :)

Cherries!! They’re so cheery….I love your lunches. And you!

    • Cait

Hahah – I ALLLLMOST named my post “Cheeries” :) Great minds think alike. Love you more!

  • Aja

Welp don’t base your thoughts on “Obamacare” on a response by his opponent, that’s for sure! It’s a great program, and of course Romney glosses over any good points because he’s in an election and his party’s line is “there’s too much government interference in mah life!!!” Our healthcare industry is a sham, it bankrupts people while simultaneously denying them coverage for illnesses that are curable. They need to be regulated and they need to become more competitive with each other. We’ll never have universal healthcare because we’ve dug ourselves too deep and given the healthcare industry all the power, so this is just a small step in a better direction. SORRY I HAVE FEELINGS ABOUT THIS.

PS love you! Are you EVER coming back to CT?

    • Cait

Haha – I can see that! I need to know more about it before I can figure it out, but definitely don’t plan to just listen to one side before deciding. PROMISE :)

PS – Love you too! Yours and Michelley’s MK and A post literally had me rolling on the floor laughing. I was impressed with Michelle’s effort – if she did that from memory without looking anything up she has more of a steel trap for useless information than I ever thought she did! And yes! Hopefully! I will let you know next time I’m around :)

      • Aja

Hahaha! She’s a card. That was amazing though. Come back and see us!!

        • Cait

It most definitely was amazing. And I will!! :)

im currently suffering from a severe Eating disorder (for 10 years now) and i live in nys. I have no insurance and my experience with healthcare has been awful. Obamacare sounds good but in reality would only cause our country and its foundation to crumble. i encourage anyone who thinks its a good idea to read up on it. its awful. and this is coming from someone who is in desperate need for insurance.

anywho, on a different note….lol i love all your blog and look foward to reading it everyday:-)

    xoxox

    • Cait

I’m so so sorry to hear you’re suffering – I hope that you’re able to get to a happy and healthy place where you feel good and strong.

And thank you so much for sharing your view on ObamaCare – I think it’s always good to know both sides of issues such as these. I definitely intend to read up on it more so that I can get a better understanding.

Finally, I’m SO glad you like the blog and that it can be something you look forward to every day! You have no idea how much that means to me to hear!

That’s such a classic sandwich, you can never go wrong! Loving cherry season too.

    • Cait

      Agreed :)
