lemon yogurt tzatziki dip

lemon yogurt tzatziki dip // cait's plate

this post is brought to you in partnership with siggi’s – all opinions contained within are my own.

Spring is slowly trying to creep its way in and I couldn’t be happier about it!

I don’t know about you guys, but when Spring hits I crave fresh dishes.  Cue this lemon yogurt tzatziki dip –  it’s light, refreshing and oh-so simple to pull together.

While I could probably eat the whole bowl of it myself, it’s also perfect to put out when guests come over because it pairs well with so many different dippers.  You can do anything from whole grain pita bread to an array of fresh veggies or even chicken kebabs, ensuring there’s something there for everyone.  Trust me, if this dip is in the middle of the plate, all will be well!

Traditional tzatziki utilizes plain yogurt as the base to which you add additional lemon juice (and maybe a little lemon zest), but I decided to switch things up a bit and utilize siggi’s triple cream lemon yogurt as my base.  This not only eliminated a step, but made for a deliciously thick and creamy dip that’s high in protein without a lot of sugar.

Not only does the siggi’s triple cream lemon yogurt make this nice and creamy, but its subtle flavor is a perfect base as it blends seamlessly with the other ingredients.  No overpowering artificial lemon flavor here!  You can fully appreciate (and taste!) each flavor featured in the dip.

But don’t let the simplicity of this recipe fool you – it may not have a ton of crazy elements, but it’s a dip that I can promise you everyone will love.

It can also easily be added to sandwiches, salads and main dishes for an added punch of flavor.  While humble in its ingredients, it still manages to take ordinary meals to the next level!  Nothing better than that if you ask me!

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. siggi’s lemon triple cream yogurt (two 4 oz. containers)
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 large English cucumber, peeled, de-seeded and finely grated
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Combine above ingredients and mix well

Notes

Can't find siggi's delicious lemon triple cream yogurt? No problem! Just sub 8 oz., or 1 cup, of siggi's plain yogurt and add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 1/2 teaspoon of minced lemon zest for the same great flavor.
