snowy

1 · Dec 29, 2012 · 12 Comments

hi people!

i’m just popping in…i’ve been doing my best to stay somewhat disconnected on my break..focus on family, the town and myself. ย i know many of you are also busy and doing the same.

if you follow me on instagram, you’re probably being pretty well briefed on what i’ve been up to…a lot of family time, fitting in some exercise and relaxing!

i woke up this morning and made a nice comforting breakfast to warm me up

7154ef9651ba11e2868f22000a1f97ea 7

{2 slices of whole wheat toast with olive oil, 2 hard boiled eggs, coffee with soymilk and orange juice}

i digested for a little bit and then decided to get my butt out the door to fit in a run before the snow came.

It was actually a pretty good run and it lightly started snowing the last mile or so which was pretty great. ย I just did a quick half hour and then was safely back indoors by the fire!

I did some planks and some cobras (can’t neglect the back!) and then showered and made myself a nice lunch to refuel with:

29188eec51e011e2b4e822000a9f130c 7

{hummus and veggie on whole wheat with a big old carrot and a pear}

moments after finishing, i looked out the window and saw a winter wonderland:

and it’s still coming down! ย i love it ๐Ÿ™‚

an apple with peanut butter got me through the rest of the afternoon and then dinner was nice and easy –

5504305e520a11e2a4d822000a1f924b 7

{whole wheat pasta with meat sauce}

comfort in a bowl! ย fits the weather perfectly ๐Ÿ™‚ ย i figured i got my veggies in at lunch…plus we were all out of lettuce for a salad, so veggie-less it was.

not a bad day if i do say so myself. ย hope you’re all enjoying your time with family!

    I’m loving the snow as well but I’d love it even more if we got a bit more and I could stay inside drinking hot chocolate or tea and read a book. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Snow is gorgeous to look at! Except I don’t usually like to be outside IN it for too long when it’s chilly outside haha I’m a cold weather wimp.

      Haha I’m with you there – unless I’m running and thus warming up quickly, I’m a wimp too.

    Good job prioritising during the holiday season! The snow looks beautiful but I think it’s one of those things that I like the look of but don’t want to actually experience. Too cold for me! Haha

      Hahaha – I can understand that. I think a lot of people feel that way! I’m born and bred in the Northeast so it’s totally normal for me! I don’t know any other way ๐Ÿ™‚
