Aaaaaand I officially made it through my first semester of grad school! It feels like just yesterday it was my very first day!
Craziness.
Now all that’s left to do is sit back, relax and wait for grades to roll in…
I was up around 6am this morning to squeeze in a little last minute studying and of course a good breakfast!
Into the bowl went:
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1 cup water
- 1 diced apple
- 1 heaping spoonful of crunchy peanut butter
A text from this girl and so many other “good luck” wishes from all of you today totally made my day. So thank you all for being so amazing! I know I always say this, but I don’t know what I’d do without you all.
The final went okay – considering I am NOT a math person at all. I think my average in the class should be high enough that even if I don’t do great on the final I should be okay. We shall see though!
I contemplated getting lunch before leaving campus but nothing called out to me so I waited until I got home and was struck with EXACTLY what I wanted…
Totally random but it completely hit the spot!
I roasted some brussel sprouts with canola oil and salt then toasted some pecans and scrambled some eggs. I threw it all together in the pan for one last toss and then served it with a glass of OJ.
Like I said, totally random but it did the trick!
To celebrate my finishing the semester I kicked back on the couch and watched a few good hours of trashy TV (you can always count on those Housewives to do something nuts).
I snacked on a kashi waffle that I toasted, topped with peanut butter and chocolate chips and then headed out for a nice, long walk. I covered a little over 4 miles in a little over an hour. I then came home and topped that off with 20 minutes of yoga. It was a perfect afternoon!
Dinner was a little bit celebratory as well – leftover pizza from last night and wine!
Delicious.
And now it’s off to watch more Homeland!
Happy Tuesday everyone!

Congrats lady! Must feel so so good to have a breather. And your random lunch sounds delightful! I’m so into putting roasted pecans into everything right now.
Cait says
They totally make the dish right?! And thank you! It definitely does feel good 🙂
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
Congrats on completing semester 1!! 🙂
And I’ll be honest, that spoonful of crunchy pb on your breakfast has me craving crunchy peanut butter. OH MAN, need it NOW! 😉
Cait says
Hahah – sometimes all that will suffice is crunchy peanut butter right?! And thank you for the congrats!

Molly @ RDexposed says
Soak up the feeling of a long break. You won’t feel it again post-school until retirement. Womp womp.
Cait says
Hahaha – seriously. It’s so weird to have a month-long break again. I’m used to getting my four days in the corporate world and being ecstatic!
Molly @ RDexposed says
So true. A four day weekend is now practially a vacation.
Brittany @ GOtheXtraMile says
Yay, congrats!!!! Isn’t it the best feeling ever? I’m sure you did great 😀
Cait says
It definitely is such a good feeling. Can’t wait for you to be done too!
