this simple breakfast museli is prepared the night before for a delicious ready-made meal the next morning!
When I lived in Boston one of the things I loved was taking myself out to breakfast at Tatte in Brookline on the mornings that I had late class. And my go-to order every time was their museli.
Up until I started doing that, I had always done overnight oats, but Tatte’s museli definitely made me a convert.
I love that museli is a little thicker than typical overnight oats (which can feel a little slimy if not done exactly right). And if you like a thinner consistency, you can easily just add a drizzle of milk to get it to where you want it to be.
It’s also highly adaptable. The basics of oats and yogurt apply, but from there you can mix up whatever nuts, dried fruit and spices you happen to have or like!
You can also mix some honey or maple syrup right into the mixture before you let it sit overnight.
I personally like to drizzle it over the top because then I have more control over how sweet it is (especially depending on the amount of dried and fresh fruit you add in).
I love that you can make it ahead and use pretty much whatever you have on hand and it will still come out great.
Nothing better than that if you ask me!
