HIIT the Gym

Morning!

If you follow me on Twitter then you know that my Monday was kicked off with an early morning workout!

Note to Self: Fix the timestamp on your Twitter app…

I loved my SELF “8 Easy Toning Moves” workout so much yesterday that I decided to try one of the cardio exercises this morning.

I’ve never really done any sort of HIIT so I decided adding some of these workouts might be a good way to work it in slowly.

I actually liked it a lot. Β I was a sprinter in high school so it felt good to get my sprinting legs back a bit!

After the short 16-minute workout was over, I did some of my core strengthening exercises (planks, push-ups, sit-ups) and then came back to shower and make breakfast.

Breakfast started with one of my old favorites:

I more or less gave up sweetened yogurt over the past 6 months (no reason, just started to find the sweetened stuff a bit too sweet and began to prefer the tartness of the plain) so it always feels like a bit of a treat when I pick some up at the store.

This breakfast was simple but tasted so good after a workout – plus it packed a big protein punch which was great for recovery πŸ™‚

I added sliced strawberries, granola and sunflower seed butter to the Strawberry Banana Chobani

The strawberries have been just lovely lately!

On the side I had a little caffeine to keep me going…

My sister and I had a fun and delicious weekend!

Got a lot of studying to get to today! Β Wish me luck!

Good morning! I gave up sweetened yogurt a long time ago and when I eat one every once in a while it almost feels like eating ice cream.

Haha exactly!! Some of the flavors are almost too sweet for me to bear. But this, raspberry, strawberry and vanilla still hold a special place in my heart πŸ™‚

Great workout! I love starting my day with a little cardio! Such a mood booster πŸ™‚

As usual your breakfasts always look so beautiful!!

By the way I went to trader Joe’s and didn’t find whole wheat sourdough bread. I found whole wheat Tuscan pane bread. Is that the same as what you bought?

Thanks πŸ™‚ Have a lovely Monday. Good luck studying πŸ™‚

It’s not the same but I’ve had that kind too and it’s delicious! I find TJ’s varies products from one location to the next…maybe you can request they get the sourdough in at the one near you??

I moved away a bit from sweetened yogurt a bit too, lately. I think when you read all of these healthy living blogs, you tend to gravitate toward the healthier fare. Plus plain yogurt is just plain delicious.

    Good luck with your studying!!

Agreed! Plus I add so much of my own stuff to yogurt now-a-days that I don’t really need the extra sweeteners for flavor! And thank you! πŸ™‚
