easy iced coffee

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

this easy iced coffee can be made right in your drip coffee filter and tastes as good as any at your local cafe!

Let’s face it, it’s hard to beat a glass of cold & refreshing iced coffee on a hot summer day, but it can also be hard to justify buying one every day of the week.

When I was in grad school and trying like hard to save whatever money I had, I came up with this easy at-home iced coffee recipe so that I could still enjoy a refreshing coffee drink on hot summer days without breaking the bank.

It’s been my go-to recipe ever since and I still make it, despite not being (quite so) broke.

I make it right in my drip coffee filter (the same one that I use to make hot coffee) and it comes out perfect every single time.

So if you’re looking to save a little this summer but still want to partake in iced coffee season, I highly recommend giving this a try!

And if you have any tips & tricks for the perfect at-home iced coffee – please share! I always love trying different coffee recipes πŸ™‚

Description

this easy iced coffee can be made right in your drip coffee filter and tastes as good as any at your local cafe!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 heaping scoops of finely ground coffee beans (I use a dark roast, but use whatever you like best!)
  • 4 cups water
  • Optional: plain, unsweetened soymilk for serving

Instructions

  1. Brew coffee as you normally would then pour into a large mason jar or other jar that can be sealed and place in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour
  2. Pour over a handful of ice cubes then add milk
  3. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Coffee will keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • If you want more less, I just recommend a 2:1 ratio of coffee scoops to water

Keywords: coffee, iced coffee, drink
