favorite coats & jackets for cooler weather

favorite coats & jackets for cooler weather // cait's plate

I’ve gotten quite a few requests over DM on Instagram to do a roundup of my favorite coats & jackets and I’m happy to have finally gotten around to it!  I’ve broken it out into different categories to make it easier to follow.

WOOL & WOOL-BLEND COATS & JACKETS
Wool or wool-blend coats are great everyday options but also work well when going to events or outings where you might be wearing something a bit more dressy.  I usually invest in at least one every couple of years to wear to work and different outings.

PUFFY COATS
Living in the Northeast for so many years, I found investing in a few good puffy coats (one long, one short and a vest) well worth the money.  They’re perfect for wearing during snowstorms (not only because they keep you warm but also because then you’re not worrying about getting your nice wool coat soaking wet or dirty).

MOTO / [FAUX] LEATHER JACKETS
I love moto jackets for Fall into early winter.  They’re fairly warm (especially when worn with a sweater) so they’re great as the weather just starts to cool down.  They also look good with just about any outfit from dresses to jeans so you can wear them pretty much anywhere.

Great post!! I really appreciate the recommendations, Cait. Checking some of these options out ASAP.

I have the J.Crew Stadium Cloth Chateau Parka and love it! Just need to grab a casual puffer now and I’m set!
